Andrijana Jovanova – Youth in rural development

As a person who doesn’t really have a lot of free time, this was a great way of using the week off that I had. I’m very thankful for the opportunity that I had to visit the beautiful Cyprus and being able to experience a few of the gems that it has.

From August 31st to September 7th, 2019, we had the opportunity to stay in the mountainous area of Cyprus called Agros. This village welcomed us with a lot of magnificent views, traditional and good food and friendly residents.

As a rural area of it’s own, it had a lot to do with our project which aimed to finding new ways in the development of the rural areas.

By visiting the homes of the villagers, their businesses and the local factories we learned a lot of new stuff that helped us throughout the training, the workshops and the discussions that we had.

One of the most significant discussions that we had was with the Minister of Agriculture of Cyprus about the ways and techniques that they use in the development of the agriculture rural areas. Also last but not least, I want to thank everyone from the Erasmus + program that made this experience possible for us and letting us to get to know a lot of new friends and cultures from around the world.
