🌿 Nature as a classroom – Learning straight from life!

The third activity within the EU GREEN – Urban Gardens for Sustainable Communities project was a real experience! Together with youth workers and young people, we explored Module 3 (Urban Gardens as Botanical Conservation Spaces) and Module 4 (Urban Cultivation Techniques and Practices) – not in a classroom, but in a real urban garden. 🌱

📍The location was special: the garden surrounding the monastery in Lesnovo – created and maintained voluntarily by local worshippers. Our host was a passionate volunteer who has cared for this garden for over 20 years, nurturing trees that are as old as 800 years! 🌳

👀 Participants had the chance to:
• Learn about plant species suitable for urban gardening
• Discover how to maintain different plants in Macedonian climate conditions
• Hear a heartfelt story of voluntary dedication, love for the land, and nature as cultural heritage

🔎 The session was practical, inspiring, and educational – perfectly complementing the theory and bringing to life the core of sustainable gardening.

Dare to be different.

The way to change the world, or at least your world, is to dare to be different. When you dare to be different, you step out of the mold, and you make space for your creative twists. When you dare to be different, sometimes you stand alone. But alone is where your unique creative contribution can thrive. What great leaders, great artists, and inspiring minds, do.
